At around 215,863 tons, MSC World Europa is about 4% to 8% smaller than the five Oasis-class ships. MSC World Europa is 21 decks high — three decks higher than the Oasis-class vessels. Because a large percentage of the new cruise ships arriving in 2023 belong to an existing class and therefore have a familiar look, cruise fans might not find this year's new arrivals to be as exciting as last year's debuts. Those four vessels — MSC World Europa, Explora 1, Vista and Silver Nova — are the four new cruise ships for 2023 that have us the most excited here at TPG. However, they're not the only major new cruise vessels arriving during the next 12 months. It's just one of two major new cruise ships arriving in 2023 that has a tie-in to MSC Cruises.

Icon of the Seas (Royal Caribbean)
There will be comedy performances, magic tricks and the Festival Stage that features new talent and performers every few weeks. There will also be the familiar Carnival classics like Cucina del Capitano, Seuss at Sea, along with the newer offering of RedFrog Tiki Bar. She has 24 Zodiacs, kayaks, and even two custom-built submarines on board to help you get closer to nature than you’ve ever been on cruises to some of the most remote parts of the northern hemisphere. And you’ll be guided by a team of expedition experts, as you create memories to last a lifetime. Virgin Voyages third ship, Resilient Lady, is scheduled to launch in May, initially from Athens, Greece, and farther expanding to Australia. The brand’s “adult by design” casual atmosphere is expected to continue in full force.
Cruises
It’s clearly become the next big thing, and it’s great to see cruise lines try to minimise their impact on the planet. She also offers the widest range of accommodation in the entire Celebrity Cruises fleet, with Iconic Suites, Infinite Verandas and Edge Villas some of the spectacular highlights. Expect some of your favourite Regent dining venues, jaw-dropping decor throughout suites and the public areas, and of course, some of the finest service on the ocean, with every guest treated like the ultimate VIP. Expect outstanding luxury during your adventure, with 10 restaurants to choose from offering stunning and diverse cuisine.
Coming August of 2023: Norwegian Viva
The ship also includes more than 40 new and returning dining, bar, and nightlife options, and cutting-edge entertainment. Among the favorites are the cruise line’s thrilling dive shows and ice skating shows, each enhanced with immersive features and stunning special effects. The ship will offer 75 GRT per passenger, making it one of the most spacious cruise ships in the world in terms of space afforded to each passenger. Designed with the yachting lifestyle in mind, Explora I offers just over 450 balcony suites, with each boasting 377 square feet of space. As the cruise industry continues to grow and evolve, the delivery of new cruise ships in 2023 is highly anticipated.
Resilient Lady will initially sail in the Mediterranean before repositioning to Australia for the winter (where it'll mostly cater to the Australian market). Fares start at $455 per person for a two-night voyage out of Melbourne, Australia. Drinking spots include a two-deck English-style pub dubbed Masters of the Sea Pub, which serves beer made on board.

Norwegian Viva Will Have a Racetrack, Two Freefall Slides and Large Haven Area
Thrill seekers are going to love the bigger and better go-kart racetrack, which winds around the ship's funnel, as well as drop dry slides that will make you scream. On Celebrity Ascent, the line will put the first ones developed specifically for solo travelers. Suite life also gets a boost with Icon and Edge Villas -- the latter featuring private plunge pools -- as well as the large Retreat complex. The 6,334-passenger ship will be powered by liquid natural gas and be the third in the line's Meraviglia-Plus Class.
Azamara Cruises Announces Longer Sailings and New Ports
When it debuts, Seven Seas Grandeur will offer one of the highest space and crew to passenger ratios out of not just all of Regent’s cruise ships, but industry-wide as well. A great cruise ship specialty restaurant should feel like date night at an exciting venue – and that’s exactly what Norwegian Cruise Line delivers on its ships. Passengers are spoiled for choice, from upscale Italian in Onda by Scarpetta and delicious Teppanyaki and sushi, to fine French food or Mediterranean fare. The line also offers thoughtful dining packages to help make visiting these venues less restrictive and costs more manageable. The latest “world’s most luxurious cruise ship” from Regent Seven Seas Cruises (each new vessel outdoes the last in terms of extreme luxury) debuts in Europe in November, before a season in North and Central America.

The two earlier vessels in the series are a whopping 35% bigger than the next-biggest Carnival ships currently afloat, and they are also bigger than all but 11 other cruise vessels in the world. Perhaps the most notable new cruise ship of 2023 will be MSC World Europa, the first of a new series of megaships from MSC Cruises that is designed to go head-to-head with Royal Caribbean's giant Oasis-class ships. The third of a series of newbuilds for Regent, Seven Seas Grandeur will likely try to top the title of "world's most luxurious cruise ship," which the line dubbed sister ship Silver Seas Explorer when it debuted. Coming in November 2023, Seven Seas Grandeur will have its version of the $11,000-per-night Regent Suite, and the line is already stating that the ship will have the highest space and crew ratio per passenger in the industry. The first ship in the luxury Silversea fleet to have all balconies, Silver Nova will debut in summer 2023.
The year will also bring the first new ship in nearly a decade from upscale line Oceania Cruises, to be called Vista, as well as the first of a new class of ship for luxury line Silversea Cruises, to be called Silver Nova. After filing for bankruptcy in 2022, Crystal Cruises has found a new owner in luxury travel group Abercrombie & Kent and former Silversea head Manfredi Lefebvre d'Ovidio. The company plans a relaunch of the brand, on Crystal's former ships and with former Crystal President Jack Anderson, in 2023.
Expect the same high-class accommodation and features as Viking’s other ocean ships, with every cabin having a balcony, and tasteful decor throughout. Staterooms and suites are taken to a new level for the cruise line too, with every room having an opulent bathroom with an oversized rainforest shower and decadent decor. And in a first for the cruise line, there are Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms designed for solo passengers. Despite the luxurious small size of this ship, she has some great features including an Aqua Pool and fine Mediterranean dining. This is apt, as she’ll be sailing throughout the Med, as well as offering itineraries amongst the beautiful Caribbean islands. Whether it has a brand new feature that’s never been seen before at sea, a new take on an old favourite, or just an expansion of a fleet that sees it opening up new itineraries.

She has taken the established excellence of Regent Seven Seas’ existing ships and refined it to create a luxury experience like no other at sea. Seabourn Pursuit is the second Seabourn expedition ship for the cruise line, following the launch of her sister Seabourn Venture in 2022. While Seabourn is known for its outstanding luxury cruises, these expedition ships take things to another level when it comes to destination cruising. Additionally, Norwegian Viva will offer the most outdoor deck space of any new cruise ship, according to the line, including more total pool deck space than any other ship in the brand's fleet other than Norwegian Prima. Early word on the ship notes nine dining "experiences" and cabins that start at a generous 377 square feet.
Expect a revolutionary asymmetrical design with breath-taking outdoor spaces offering incredible views, and some outstanding dining venues to match. Less a cruise ship and more a luxury yacht, Emerald Sakara provides guests with the ultimate in peaceful luxury aboard a ship that’s just 361 feet long. With 50 cabins she has a passenger capacity of just 100, with 68 crew on board able to take care of every personal need you might have. Albatros Expeditions will expand its fleet with Ocean Albatros — sister ship to Ocean Victory and another of SunStone Ships’ signature X-Bow-equipped expedition ships — in May 2023. Sailing to the Arctic and Antarctica, it will be rated with a hull strength of Polar Class 6 and contain 95 staterooms and suites, a dozen of which will be dedicated to solo travelers (sans a single supplement). Like Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, Carnival Jubilee will measure 181,808 tons, putting it in a tie with the former ships for the position of biggest ship ever to sail for Carnival.
Silver Nova will also be the line's first ship to have a pool on the side of the ship, as opposed to being enclosed. Expect the line's highly regarded S.A.L.T. culinary program to play a starring role among a roster that has a high bar of eight restaurants. Virgin Voyages is relatively new to the cruising game, but that doesn’t mean that the line is lacking in any way. The line’s unique, adults-only cruising experience is one you won’t find anywhere else, with its party-esque atmosphere alongside a high level of luxury.
If you’re looking for a more intimate cruising experience, with fewer crowds and more peace and quiet, you’ll find it here. If you’re considering traveling on a Viking ship for the first time, when Viking Saturn debuts, it’s worth noting that the cruise line is definitely a more refined one, with a thoroughly adult vibe. With each new ship, Carnival packs more and more into its fares – with fewer upcharges than most lines.
Category 6 is a sprawling water park that includes the slides, the first family raft slide and mat racers. Get up your courage to try the Frighteningbolt, which is the tallest waterslide to sail. The LNG powered ship reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and compliments MSC’s environmental stewardship of waste management, wastewater treatment and energy efficiency on the Euribia.
